Summary:

Strategy gaming perfected. A breath-taking campaign of exploration, expansion and conquest across a fantasy world. Turn-based civilisation management and real-time epic strategy battles with thousands of troops and monsters at your command.

Introduction:

Defend your world. Destroy theirs,

Total War: WARHAMMER II is a strategy game of titanic proportions. Choose from four unique, varied factions and wage war your way – mounting a campaign of conquest to save or destroy a vast and vivid fantasy world. This is a game of two halves – one a turn-based open-world campaign, and the other intense, tactical real-time battles across the fantastical landscapes of the New World. Play how you choose – delve into a deep engrossing campaign, experience unlimited replayability and challenge the world in multiplayer with a custom army of your favourite units. Total War: WARHAMMER II offers hundreds of hours of gameplay and no two games are the same.

World-Spanning Conquest:

Engage in statecraft, diplomacy, exploration and build your empire, turn by turn. Capture, build and manage teeming settlements and recruit vast armies. Level up Legendary Lords and Heroes and arm them with mythical weapons and armour. Negotiate alliances or declare Total War to subjugate any that stand between you and your goal.

Epic Real-Time Battles:

Command thousands-strong legions of soldiers in intense tactical battles. Send forth ferocious, twisted monsters, fire-breathing dragons and harness powerful magic. Utilise military strategies, lay ambushes, or use brute force to turn the tide of combat and lead your forces to victory. The second in a trilogy and sequel to the award-winning Total War: WARHAMMER, Total War: WARHAMMER II brings players a breath-taking new narrative campaign, set across the vast continents of Lustria, Ulthuan, Naggaroth and the Southlands. The Great Vortex Campaign builds pace to culminate in a definitive and climactic endgame, an experience unlike any other Total War title to date.

Playing as one of 8 Legendary Lords across 4 iconic races from the world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, players must succeed in performing a series of powerful arcane rituals in order to stabilise or disrupt The Great Vortex, while failing the progress of the other races. Each Legendary Lord has a unique geographical starting position, and each race offers a distinctive new play style with unique campaign mechanics, narrative, methods of war, armies, monsters, Lores of Magic, legendary characters, and staggering new battlefield army abilities.

Shortly after launch, owners of both the original game and Total War™ WARHAMMER II will gain access to the colossal third campaign. Exploring a single open-world epic map covering the Old World and the New World, players may embark on monumental campaigns as any owned Race from both titles.

Conquer the world, together:

Each of the Races in Total War™ WARHAMMER II will be playable in single and multiplayer campaign, plus custom and multiplayer battles. As the two Legendary Lords for each race all have their own unique campaign start positions, you’ll be able to play a 2-player co-op campaign as the same race. If you own both parts 1 and 2, you’ll be able to play in multiplayer as any of the races you own.

The World of Total War: WARHAMMER II

Millennia ago, besieged by a Chaos invasion, a conclave of High Elf mages forged a vast, arcane vortex. Its purpose was to draw the Winds of Magic from the world as a sinkhole drains an ocean, and blast the Daemonic hordes back to the Realm of Chaos. Now the Great Vortex falters, and the world again stands at the brink of ruin. Powerful forces move to heal the maelstrom and avert catastrophe. Yet others seek to harness its terrible energies for their own bitter purpose. The race is on, and the very fate of the world will lie in the hands of the victor.

Prince Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan, guides the High Elves in their desperate efforts to stabilise the vortex as it roils above their home continent. Atop his palanquin-throne, the Slann Mage-Priest Mazdamundi directs his Lizardmen war-hosts as they surge northward from Lustria. He, too, is intent on preventing cataclysm, though the methods of The Old Ones must prevail.  The Witch King Malekith and his sadistic Dark Elf hordes spew forth from Naggaroth and their labyrinthine Black Arks. He tastes great weakness in the vortex – and great opportunity in its demise.

Meanwhile the Skaven, led by Queek Headtaker, stir in their foetid subterranean tunnels. There they multiply unchecked and look hungrily towards the surface, their motives obscured. The time for revelation is nigh…

Four races, four outcomes, a single goal: control of the Great Vortex, for good or ill.

Game Type:

Total War: Warhammer II is a turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game.

A turn-based strategy (TBS) game is a strategy game (usually some type of war game, especially a strategic-level war game) where players take turns when playing. This is distinguished from real-time strategy, in which all players play simultaneously.

Real-time tactics or RTT is a subgenre of tactical war games played in real-time simulating the considerations and circumstances of operational warfare and military tactics. It is differentiated from real-time strategy gameplay by the lack of classic resource micromanagement and base or unit building, as well as the greater importance of individual units and a focus on complex battlefield tactics.

A video game is an electronic game that involves interaction with a user interface to generate visual feedback on a video device such as a TV screen or computer monitor. The word video in video game traditionally referred to a raster display device, but as of the 2000s, it implies any type of display device that can produce two or three-dimensional images. Some theorists categorize video games as an art form, but this designation is controversial.

Game play:

Total War: Warhammer II features turn-based strategy and real-time tactics gameplay similar to other games in the Total War series.

In the campaign, players move armies around the map and manage settlements in a turn-based manner. Players engage in diplomacy with, and fight against, AI-controlled factions. When armies meet, a real-time battle happens. The game also has a custom battles mode where players can create customised real-time battles, as well as online multiplayer battles. Those who own races from the first game will have the same races unlocked for multiplayer in the second game.

The game’s announced races in the campaign include the Lizardmen, High Elves, Dark Elves, Skaven. The Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast (a faction of undead pirates) debuted later as Paid DLC factions.

The main campaign of the game is called Eye of the Vortex, it is a narrative focused campaign where each of the playable races has their own story and cut scenes to follow. In addition, players who own both Total War: Warhammer and Total War: Warhammer II have access to a huge combined campaign called Mortal Empires, which is more of a sandbox experience. Mortal Empires must be downloaded manually from Steam, but is free for players who own both games. The campaign can also be played online with another player in a co-operative or head-to-head mode

This game consists of two scenarios,

Battle for the Vortex:

The Old Ones, powerful godlike beings, created races in the Warhammer world to fight the forces of Chaos. The stellar gates which the Old Ones used to enter the world collapsed, leading to a flood of Chaos that was held at bay by the Lizardmen. Two High Elf heroes in Ulthuan responded to this threat. Aenarion “the Defender” mustered armies whilst Caledor Dragontamer planned to drain magical energy from the world, thus stopping the Chaos invasion. This manifested itself as the Great Vortex, accomplished with the help of the Lizardmen leaders, the Slann. It drained Chaos energy at the expense of locking Caledor and his mages in time, eternally casting spells to maintain the vortex.

Millennia later, in the time when the game is set, a Skaven rocket disguised as a twin-tailed comet disrupts the Great Vortex. The four main playable factions respond to this in different ways. The High Elves and Lizardmen seek to stabilize the Vortex, whist the Skaven and Dark Elves seek to use its power for world conquest. The Skaven launched this rocket to provoke rituals from these four major factions. The Skaven could then harness this ritual energy to allow the Skaven god, the Great Horned Rat, to enter the world and thus conquer it. When the player completes the fifth ritual, their race fights a ‘final battle’ in the Isle of the Dead to determine the fate of the Vortex and thus the world. Winning the ‘final battle’ results in winning the race’s objectives. The High Elves and Lizardmen stabilize the Vortex. The Dark Elves use the Vortex’s power to transform their leader Malekith into a god. The Skaven summon the Horned Rat and conquer the world.

Rise of the Tomb Kings:

Several millennia ago, the desert kingdom of Nehekhara was once the greatest human civilization in the Old World. However, Nehekhara saw it’s destruction at the hands of Nagash (the first necromancer). Through the power of his Black Pyramid, Nagash enacted a great spell that would kill all that lived in Nehekhara and raise them as his undead servants. Before the spell could be completed, Nagash was slain by the last Nehekharan King Alcadizaar with the aid of the Skaven (who had initially allied with the Great Necromancer, but betrayed him after they realized how great a threat Nagash was). The Nehekharan dead returned as the Tomb Kings, but because Nagashs’ ritual was incomplete, many of the Tomb Kings retained their free will and intellect.

In the current day, the false twin-tailed comet has stirred the Black Pyramid from its slumber and courses with power. It is discovered that 5 of the 9 books of Nagash are needed to control the Black Pyramid. Four Tomb King factions battle to control it: Settra the Imperishable, first and greatest king of Nehekhara, seeks the pyramid’s power to regain control over all of Nehekhara and begin global conquest. The exiled Grand Hierophant Khatep seeks to use the pyramid to fulfill his promise to Settra to transform him and the Nehekharan nobility into immortal golden beings. Queen Khalida seeks the pyramid’s power to destroy all vampires in the world and to take revenge on her cousin, Neferata (the first vampire). Arkhan the Black, the Liche King and Nagash’s second-in-command, seeks to control the Black Pyramid and use its power to resurrect his master.

Features:

The amazing features of Total War: Warhammer II can only be experienced after your first install on your OS.

-Each faction is pretty unique with unique heroes and extremely different character models, unlike other total war games every faction culture of which there is (in mortal empires (High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Orks, Dwarves, Ratmen, Norscan Raiders, Realms of Men (Empire), Realms of Men (New World), Wood Elves, Bretonnia, Tomb Kings, Vampires.

  1. Gain as much control of your continent as possible, as soon as possible. Make sure you can recruit some sort of troops anywhere in your empire, so you can quickly sprout new armies in the late game.

  2. Grab as many towns that produce your strategic game-winning resource (scrolls, tablets, etc…) as early as possible. Garrison these towns, and defend them.

  3. Station armies in your ritual sites before you start the ritual (bad guys show up fast), and have an additional army right outside the gate for reinforcements.

  4. The game is very well-balanced, so doomstacks (19 dragons, etc…) can lose to their tactical counterparts

  5. 120 Factions.

  6. Each Faction has a unique play style

  7. Battle AI is massively improved now, while not super advanced, the beginnings of complex tactical maneuvers from the AI, using hammer and anvil tactics, encirclement, defeat in detail, ambush, single or double envelopment, and fake retreat.

  8. Magic Systems for all factions are powerful and potent, they really make an impact on the battlefield but are a bit of a gamble, a really interesting mechanic that keeps with lore (mostly)

  9. A variety of tactical maps some randomly generated
